Còmhla Cruinn: Gathered Together - Christmas Island Fire Hall

It will be Gaelic traditions all the way in Christmas Island, where the culture has been practiced and treasured for generations. Comunn Féis an Eilein has played a key role in encouraging the community to preserve and promote their Gaelic culture, hosting the first Féis held outside of Scotland, and presenting the annual Féis an Eilein since the early 1990s. This important community group has been a hosting organization with Celtic Colours since the Festival began and that partnership has led to some very magical moments in the Fire Hall over the past 20 years. The magic continues today as we’ve gathered together Cape Breton family duos, a talented dancer from Sydney who performed with Fileanta at last year's Festival, and a traditional Gaelic speaker, singer, piper, storyteller and poet-MC from the Scottish Highlands. Another memorable afternoon of traditional and Gaelic influenced music and culture in Christmas Island.
